FREE MONEY

Now that I have tried it twice and saved a total of $40, I want to share with you one of my new finds.

www.couponmom.com

One of the magazines that I read recently had several websites listed to save money. This one has a lot to offer with bigger discounts than I have found everywhere else. Of course that's not saying much because there is so much out there!

Now before I shop I try to stop there first and see if what I am interested in is offered. Both times it was successful! I'm sold, now I want to spend some time just really looking at her sight and seeing what is out there....free, discounted, just for looking.

If you go to the sight, let me know what you think and if you were successful!

THE FARM

These are some random pictures that I took at the farm yesterday. Since the house has been our main focus these days I thought I would take a moment and post some of the other fun stuff we do.

This is a spider that Joe said has been living on his truck mirror for a couple of years. After viewing the pics up close, he decided that the farm would be a better home for it.

Mamaw giving Elijah instructions for the next days work.

Papaw spreading the love before he leaves for the night.

Dove and Love.

Hanging by the fire.
The beautiful sunset. This doesn't do it justice!
Levi sitting in the drivers seat after taking lessons from Papaw.

Naomi with her first big catch. Caught on a lure that her Pop made for her (Joe promptly lost it for her, 'cause he's the master lure looser). Sorry Pop!!!

Joe, trying to keep up with Naomi!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEE

We met Joe's parents at the farm to celebrate Lee's birthday. It was a surprise since Naomi has a tendency to tell all before time, and I didn't want Lee to try and discourage us from celebrating. Lee has a big heart and has giving us so much over the years that we wanted to do something special for her! Joe, taking all the credit for my ideas and hard work!
The gift of roses, when you care enough to give the very best.

Lee in her Birthday Hat, surrounded you love.

Singing Happy Birthday before the wind blew the candles out.

Being silly for the camera! Nothing like a true family photo.

SCHOOL DAYZ

He did it! Elijah got his driving permit!!! This is something the boy has dreamed about forever, and it is finally here. We have had several funny conversations in the last couple of days just because of his new adventure.

The first one came the day after he got his permit. I had just picked up the kids from school as usual they are asking about Elijah driving. Of course I am not willing to let him drive while the kids are in the car until his has more experience. He is much more experience than many his age just because he has been around motor vehicles forever. Always driving go cart, motorcycles and driving on the farm. This is not like being on the road with other vehicles as we adults know but the kids are still learning and asking.

So, we acknowledge that Elijah got his permit the day before. Then, Naomi says that her class prayed for him that day that he would be safe and those around him. I love their school and what they teach them!

The next conversation comes a little later that evening when I am out running errands. I look over and see my smiling son (which as a teenager was a little rare) and say to him, " I guess we are going to be attached at the hip from now on?" and his reply was, "yes, as long as I get to drive, I'll go anywhere with you!"

Another moment, me "Slow down when you take that turn."
Him, "That's the way you do it."
Me, "Do as I say, not as I do."

I knew my driving skills were going to come back to haunt me! I have tried to be extra conscious of how I drive for a while now, but it seems I am always in a dead run and push the limit. So, as I say, do as I say and not as I do and everything will be fine.

So, there you have it. He is loose on the road, guided by his loving mother. If you have any extra prayers that you feel like saying, we'll take all we can get!!! In the church parking lot. I thought this would be fitting for our first go at driving. The priest saw us and came over to see what was going on. I ask him to bless us and pray for us!
ONE HAPPY BOY!

HAPPY EARTH DAY

My kids celebrated Earth Day at school today with various "green"
ideas. Levi watched a movie while Naomi's class got to decorate this
bag and make an object out of recycled items.

She was SO worried that she was going to miss school and miss out on
the fun day. Yesterday she came home after school and complained of a
stomach ache. By 8 pm she was SICK in the bathroom and I was worried
too!

As you can see, she made a full recovery and was able to enjoy the day.

POST AMENDMENT

Ok, one more time. I can't seem to get the HOMEWORK post right.

It is brought to my attention that I only posted 11 words. No wonder
Naomi has a hard time...I don't make it easy.

Drum roll please,

The word is CUP.

Now the challenge is ON!

Sorry about that.

NEW HOUSE PICTURES

We went to the farm for a few hours yesterday to check on the progress of the house. It is really taking shape and very exciting! Let's see if I get all the details right. Levi taking some scrap tubing for his own project. He is near the front door.
I don't think I have shown this angle. The drive is to the left. This is looking at the back steps.

The Basement looking out from the stairs.

Standing at the top of the Basement stairs taking a look down the hall toward the Bedrooms.

Standing at the end of the hall looking toward the Great room. The hardwood floors are beautiful!

Joe in the Kitchen, showing off the custom Cherry cabinets. They have a beautiful shine, I love the color!

Standing near the windows in the Great room. The Mudroom is to the left, notice the doors on the right and all the beautiful cabinets.

One of the Bedrooms. They have nice ceiling fans in all the rooms with hardwood and tile throughout. Cool and low maintenance!

The outside deck looking out over the garage. The stone is for the fireplace and wood burning stove.

The fireplace, nice detail and good insert. I think they are going to love it. We sure do!

HOMEWORK

Naomi is working on compound words. Which is all fine and dandy until it gets hard.

She understands the concept, and is doing fairly well.

Until last night.

The teacher usually will not give them the answers, only circles the mistakes and asks them to correct and return. I will encourage and point out things too, but try not to give her answers.

Until last night.

Her words were (after trying to work these out all week), "The teacher said we can only use the words once".

Then it got hard.

So, I have a challenge for all you word seekers. See if you can come up with 6 compound words using the words only once. Let me know how long it took you and what resources you used.

The List:

gold
cow
butter
bow
apple
fish
girl
cake
pan
boy
sauce

Depending on how many people respond, I think a big prize should be in order. Any takers???

Just to be clear, use the 12 words only once to make 6 new compound words. I thought it was a major challenge.I need to see if I got them right......

DINNER

I made a quiche for dinner Wednesday that was so good, I felt like I
wanted to cook it again. Knowing my family as I do, they would have
wondered what was up. Plus, I don't want to encourage that type of
repition. You know the old saying, "varity is the spice of life".

So, plan B. Chicken pot pie! Always wanting to try something
different, the receipe said cresent rolls could be substituted for the
tradional top. I added the extra flair and the family loved it!!! They
thought I had worked extra hard (you know, cutting up the rolls).

Being the health nut I am, I had to add another dish. Do I REALY need
to say more?

IT'S GOOD TO BE JACK

I was name this post, EASTER but after looking at the pictures I changed my mind. Jack has brought a new diminution to our family. He is a good baby that loves to get around, and seldom cries. He wasn't afraid of any of us, even though he hasn't seen us since Christmas. I was kind of concerned since most babies do cry a little bit.... Elijah and Jack having a thoughtful conversation.
Playing with Naomi....Butter looking on, not knowing what to think.

Jack, holding court. He has the girls waiting for his next move.

Starting Easter dinner early, His Granny decided to give him a bite. Naomi misses a meal when she is hungry but decides to strike a pose for the camera. Of course, Levi can only resist for so long. He was sick Fri. and Sat. but feeling good Easter morning.

Naomi finally got him in her lap! She doesn't realize that the last place he would like to be is held. But, being the persistent child that she is, she enticed him with the eggs. He fell for it for a moment!

SHE WON!!!

The news we've all been waiting for.

Tiki won a spot in the new calendar!

Thank you all for taking the time to vote for her. I never had a
doubt in my mind that she would make it. I am looking forward to
seeing the finished product and will post more as I find out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!

It has become somewhat a tradition that Emily celebrates her birthday here. We always enjoy the company and good times.

Silly girls bonding with "bad hair"!

BIG FAT SECRET unless you have seen my phone

The picture I put on Facebook took 30 tries. There were a few more that were OK, but I wanted it "just right".

Now I feel bad looking at the gossip magazines.

Of course, I did not airbrush my picture.
